Dosage and Frequency
- The supplements you recommend contain folic acid or methylfolate in high dose. I don't think it's smart to take folic acid with a MTHFR mutation as well as methylfolate in a high dose. What are your thoughts about this?
- Why has my TSH increased?
- Since starting the iodine supplement, all I want to do is sleep. I don’t know if it is good or bad. Could it be because I started on the higher dose of iodine even though I dropped back down on the sixth day? Today I also had a headache too so I took Potassium Gluconate tablet thinking that the sleeping and headache could be a reaction.
- Will these dosages be forever or just until deficiencies are fixed and thyroid/coenzymes normalize? And then I'd drop back to lower dosages?
- How do you know how much iodide I should be taking?
- I’m feeling very sleepy and fatigued at the moment. Should the iodine and selenium be doing this?
- When during the day is it best to take B12, and do I take it away from the minerals?
- Would taking a bedtime dose of CBD oil cause any issues with absorption of anything, especially Molybdenum which I just started to take before bedtime? The CDB is in an oil base, so this is technically food.
- I take my thyroid medication once per day before breakfast. How does this work in conjunction with the iodine and selenium?
- I am now taking iodine and selenium at recommended doses as well as B2 and potassium. I am working up with molybdenum but I am only at 50 after 3 weeks of these minerals. I know I have to go slow but wondering if I can start B12 now or if I have to wait until I reach the 150 of the molybdenum?
- Is it likely that someone would have to increase the dosage of 1000mcg of B12 daily and how would someone know if they had to increase?
- Do you think glutathione precursors such as NAC might help for the time being until my coenzyme levels improve?
- I’m taking 500 mcg of B12 every other day. I feel like I drink five espressos. How much potassium gluconate should I take? I must be super deficient.
- Should D-Phenylalanine (DPA) be taken on an empty stomach, away from food, or how would you recommend that I take it? And is it better to take it in the morning or evening, or it doesn't really matter?
- How much vitamin D supplementation do you recommend as a starting point?
- What can I do for the serotonin deficiency? What is best to do? Take tryptophan or take 5-HTP?
- Can I expect to wean myself off the potassium gluconate as my body adjusts?
- With an elevated Ferritin, do you recommend that I supplement with iron as I go through the protocol, or just keep an eye on the level and only supplement if my level is dropping below the optimal of 200?
- How much D-Phenylalanine (DPA) would you recommend that I take per day?
- I will do all the tests recommended. Does it make sense to wait with starting the minerals before all the tests are done? Or is it ok if it overlaps a little bit?
