Since starting the iodine supplement, all I want to do is sleep. I don’t know if it is good or bad. Could it be because I started on the higher dose of iodine even though I dropped back down on the sixth day? Today I also had a headache too so I took Potassium Gluconate tablet thinking that the sleeping and headache could be a reaction.

Yes, those are common reactions I see when people start taking minerals that they're deficient in. Sometimes people feel fine at first, but then they get a delayed reaction later as the mineral starts to build up in their system.

If you continue to have reactions, it would be best for you to increase your iodine dosage slowly. And then continue taking potassium gluconate as needed. But any sort of reaction from the iodine is a good sign because it's diagnostic. It's a sign that you're deficient and your body is reacting to it. People who are healthy and don't have these mineral deficiencies typically don't notice anything at all when they take these mineral supplements. So it means you’re on the right track.

Sleepiness is also common when the body is trying to heal and recover, which it will start to do when you give it the nutrients it needs. So overall, it is a good sign, even though it is a nuisance. You will just have to back off and take short breaks from the iodine if the sleepiness becomes overwhelming. And then reintroduce the iodine after the reactions subside. And then of course stay at a low dose for a while and gradually increase over time.
