Would it be ok to add in a calcium supplement? I’ve been warned by a doctor previously not to supplement as I’m taking a decent dose of Vitamin D which supposedly increases calcium absorption. I’m going to add Vitamin K2 to this though to help regulate things.
I don’t recommend supplementing with calcium. I still think you’re better off just continuing to eat dairy.
And then if you’re already taking Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2, your body will better absorb and use the calcium you’re getting anyway. So you don’t need to eat that much dairy to get enough calcium.
So I wouldn’t worry too much about trying to reach the RDA. As long as you’re eating some dairy every day and taking Vitamin D3, your phosphoric acid result will decrease. And your cellular calcium deficiency will correct itself.
If you really want, you could take an extra 500 mg of calcium as a supplement. But I wouldn’t take more than that. And I really don’t think that’s even necessary. I would just stick with getting calcium from food.
And if you do supplement, you need to make sure you take it far away from the other minerals I recommend. Because it will interfere with the absorption of selenium and molybdenum if taken at the same time.
