Should I come off my thyroid medication?

No, I wouldn't come off your thyroid medication. I would keep an eye on your thyroid markers and you may have to lower your dosage and maybe even come off of it entirely later. But I wouldn't just come off it right away. Wait and see what happens first. You may start to experience symptoms of hyperthyroidism. And when that happens, you could talk to your doctor about lowering your thyroid medication or coming off it entirely.

Overall, it's up to you and your doctor what you decide to do with your thyroid meds. But your thyroid won't function optimally, even while taking meds, unless you fix your iodine and selenium deficiencies. So just make sure you keep taking the iodine and selenium as I recommend in my program.

I used to take natural desiccated thyroid but no longer need to. And many of clients are able to come off thyroid medication over time if they are already on it. Or at least significantly reduce their medication.

Some people do decide to come off their thyroid medication before working with me because they don't find like their thyroid medication really helps them anyway. If that's the case, talk to your doctor about that and see if they'll take you off it.

Being off thyroid medication does make it easier for me to monitor your thyroid progress though. Because when people are on thyroid medication, their TSH is usually close to 0, and their T4 is artificially inflated. So then I can't really use those markers to determine iodine status. So then I can really only look at the hair test results to see what the person needs.
