I had recently read that taking too much iodine could actually be bad for some people with hypothyroidism. If that is the case, when would it be bad to take it? Or, just like you explained in your presentation, does it have to do with the type of iodine you're taking that could have an adverse effect?

Yes, taking way too much iodine can be problematic. Very large doses are a problem. And taking the wrong form can be problematic. Especially in people with Hashimoto’s, very large doses of iodine can worsen thyroid function in people with Hashimoto’s. And by very large doses, I mean several milligrams or more. Like massive doses. That’s why I recommend just 500 micrograms per day. If you take 500 mcg of iodine per day or less, you’ll be fine.
