Several urine markers have crossed into the red range. Any thoughts?
Yeah, I wouldn’t pay attention to the colour codes or the reference ranges provided by Great Plains labs. Their reference ranges are determined by the results obtained by the lab. The data is normalized and an arbitrary range that covers 90% of the data is assigned as "normal". But that doesn't mean it's actually normal. It simply represents the ranges that are normally seen in their lab. And the people that order their tests are obviously sick people who have some sort of medical condition that requires the testing. So their references ranges don’t include persons who are biochemically and metabolically normal. Their reference ranges are based on the results of sick people, not healthy people. So their reference ranges are completely meaningless and useless. Just ignore them.
