I'm having a reaction from iodine, what do I do?
Drop back down to a lower dosage of the supplement and slowly increase again over time.
So let's say you take 62 mcg of iodine and you get really bad symptoms from that. It feels like too much and you're having a bad reaction. Well, next time just take 31 mcg instead. And then stay at 31 mcg for a while. Then eventually, try increasing the dosage to 62 mcg again later. Your reaction at 62 mcg should be less severe after being on 31 mcg for a while. If it is still severe, drop back down to 31 mcg and stay there for longer.
You can also take potassium gluconate or eat potassium-rich foods to lessen the reaction. Many people find that helpful.
