I have been reading that insulin resistance has a link to depression. Have you heard about this and are you going to be talking about this as well? What are some things we can do about this?
Yeah, well first of all, you should just eat a healthier diet. Don’t eat a bunch of sugar and processed foods. Because that will lead to insulin resistance. That’s just common sense. I don’t get into healthy eating into the program because I assume most people just know that they shouldn’t be eating junk food. I also assume that people know that they shouldn’t be drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. It’s just basic advice.
So you should be eating healthy, and you should be eating a wide variety of nutrient-dense foods. If you’re eating junk food and refined sugar and alcohol all of the time, then you’re going to develop insulin resistance.
But hypothyroidism also leads to insulin resistance. Poor sleep leads to insulin resistance. Having a disrupted circadian rhythm leads to insulin resistance. And we address all of these things in the program.
Insulin resistance is also linked to a cellular B1 deficiency. So I recommend that some people supplement with Vitamin B1. Once I see the results of your urine test, I’ll know if you should supplement with Vitamin B1.
There are certain mineral deficiencies that can contribute to insulin resistance as well. And I can see if you need to supplement with additional minerals once I see your hair test results.
So yeah, the program definitely addresses insulin resistance. I just don’t really talk about it.
Because it’s just the downstream effect of nutritional deficiencies and poor lifestyle choices. And so I just focus on the underlying factors that lead to it instead of talking about it.
