What do you think is the cause of my mast cell activation syndrome?
Mast cell activation syndrome is often triggered by environmental toxicity, particularly mold toxicity. So if you live in a moldy water-damaged building, then you probably need to move and change your environment.
However, the main underlying issue that still needs to be addressed is that the body is having trouble detoxing toxins due to cellular deficiencies (such as low Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide and Flavin Mononucleotide). These deficiencies lead to poor methylation, low glutathione production and poor detoxification.
So unless the underlying cellular deficiencies and methylation issues are addressed and fixed, symptoms of mast cell activation syndrome will likely remain.
Trauma also needs to be addressed because there is a strong link between MCAS and nervous system dysregulation. Emotions, thoughts and stress levels can significantly impact the immune system.
Low-dose naltrexone is a band-aid approach that can sometimes help with MCAS in the meantime. A few of my past clients were taking that and benefited from that.
