How long does the B12 keep its potency/quality if we keep it in the refrigerator and protected from light?
It lasts quite a while. There’s actually a study about this. Researchers looked into it. I found the study in my notes before this call.
And they found that methylcobalamin remains stable for at least 6 months.
And they stopped the study after 6 months.
So it was still stable after 6 months. And it likely lasts much longer than that.
I’ll share the study in our group later today or tomorrow.
They also studied it at room temperature. It was unrefrigerated and it lasted that long.
So if you refrigerate it, it will last even longer.
So I wouldn’t worry about it going bad. As long as you shield it from light as much as possible, and you keep it in the fridge, it should last a long time. Probably a year or even longer than that.
