I saw that in a Q&A you mentioned you don't like supplementing too much with folate initially. Why is that? I thought folate was important for methylation.

It’s because the cycling of folate in and out of the methylation cycle requires adequate Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide. So if you have low Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide and you take lots of folate, you’re probably going to have some issues. You're going to have some reactions. It just won’t cycle through the methylation cycle efficiently.  

This is often why people think they have "overmethylation". They take folate and they feel worse and they think it’s a sign that they are over-methylating. So they're a bit misguided with that. In reality, they have low Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide. And their body isn’t ready to handle too much folate at that point. So they're having a significant reaction. They're feeling worse.
