Apparently, I have Pyrrole disorder, what are your thoughts on this condition?
I think it’s a misguided approach. I’m very familiar with it, and once you dig deeper, you realize it doesn’t actually get to the root cause.
You get can elevated pyrroles from low Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide and Flavin Mononucleotide.
So, a practitioner might diagnose you with Pyrrole disorder. And then they'll tell you to take very large doses of Vitamin B6 to treat it.
The biggest problem I have with this is there is a risk of B6 toxicity. B6 is the only B vitamin where there is a risk of toxicity and there are case studies of B6 toxicity in the literature. So that’s one of the main problems I have with pyroluria diagnosis and treatment.
But then what most practitioners don’t realize is that you need adequate B2 and Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide and Flavin Mononucleotide to activate B6 and use Vitamin B6 on a cellular level.
The coenzyme form of B6 is dependent on Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide and Flavin Mononucleotide.
It’s just like with Vitamin B12.
So pyrrole disorder is often due to low Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide and Flavin Mononucleotide. Instead of giving large doses of B6, the focus should be on fixing those coenzymes so that you can actually use the B6.
Once the coenzymes are optimized, you don’t need to give large doses of B6 at all. And pyrroles drop back down to normal.
And zinc can often help people if they are deficient, and I can see whether you need zinc by looking at your hair test.
